General Class Rules
1. Students are to arrive to class each day on time and prepared with
the required class materials (text book, paper, pens, pencils,
homework, student planner, SSR book).

- Failure to be in class before the final bell rings is considered a tardy. Students who are tardy will lose half of the day's participation points.
- A student who is late to class because of a conference with another

students having difficulties opening their lockers may get a pass from
one of the security officers.
- Failure to bring materials (text books, paper, pens, pencils to class will result in a loss of participation points for the day.
- Students who need to be excused from class to use the restroom must sign out and take the class lanyard. As per school rules, no one may leave the room the first ten minutes of class, or the last ten minutes.
- Writing instruments will not be supplied by the teacher.
2. Students will not eat food, drink beverages, or chew gum in class.

3. Students will silence and surrender their cell phones at the beginning of each class and will place their devices in a numbered pocket that coincides with their desk number. A charging station has been provided for those who wish to charge their phone during class.
- Students who do not surrender their phones will not be allowed to take them out of their backpacks for any reason during class time.
- Students who use their cell phones in class without being instructed to do so by the teacher will earn a zero for their participation grade that day, as well as a zero for all classwork/test grades for that day.
- When reclaiming their phones at the end of the period, students are to only handle their own property. Students will not retrieve their classmates phones for them.
4. The dress code policy will be strictly enforced in class.
- Distracting, inappropriate, or offensive clothing will result in my excusing the student to the Dean's office. Students will not be allowed to return to class until appropriately attired.
